Grandma's Apple Pie

I have not posted in almost a year
but wanted to share my grandma's
apple pie recipe with
pictures of course :)

Take 2 1/4 cups of flour and mix in 1 teaspoon of salt

Take out 1/3 of a cup of the
mix and put in a small bowl

Add 6 Tablespoons of water

Go back to the flour/salt mix and add one cup Crisco.

Mix in Crisco

Add the small bowl mix to the flour

Mix together and make into dough ball

Divide dough in half

Roll out on lightly floured surface. This is always the hard part for me. Don't worry if it takes you a few times before you get the dough rolled outright. A trick I learned is when you have it rolled out correct have someone help you get it into the pan. Lift the dough slowly and have someone slid the pan under the dough.

I like to place the 9 in pie pan on the rolled out dough to make sure I have it big enough.

Next make it look nice and fix and rips

Now for the apples. You need 4-5 Rome or Jonathan apples. Not all stores carry these apples but I found Rome at Raleys.
Peel the apples and slice.

If you have an apple slicer this will
make you job a bit faster. I use the slicer
but still slice the apples a little thinner.

Place the apples
slices in larger bowl.

Mix together one cup sugar
and 2 tablespoons flour.

Toss and cover the apple slices
with the sugar flour mix.

Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Place apple slices in pie crust.
Sprinkle with more cinnamon
and a little sugar
Place 6 slices of butter on top
Roll out top
Place top over pie
Clean it up and pinch together
the edges. Cut six slices in the top of the crust. Add more cinnamon and lightly sprinkle with
sugar. Place 6 more slices of butter on the top.
Bake at 425 for 40 minutes. Crust will be golden.
Enjoy :)
